This is a milestone tape in that is the first "fictitious" tape to include a song that would later appear on a real Dead Milkmen album. That song is "Plum Dumb", a song that Joe wrote while at school at Temple University. This tape was recorded during Joe's one month winter break and includes Rodney (who was in his senior year of high school) and Garth (who would later join the Air Force). The photograph of the cows for the front and back covers was taken by Joe on a farm down the road from Joe's house in Wagontown. That farm was sold in the late nineties, so don't look for the cows there if you pass through town. Now that propertly belongs to a funeral home and the pasture has become a parking lot for the funeral home patrons. This brings the themes of "death" and "milk" together in a rather odd way, we think. |
